Composed of two parts, Un círculo que se fue rodando (A Circle that Rolled Away) unfolds between downtown Buenos Aires and the subtropical province of Misiones. In a succession of long takes, fifty-six characters wearing T-shirts with slogans rhythmically compose a long concrete poem as a tropical virus emerges, giving rise to a massive state of radical, yet questionable, empathy. Hovering between fiction and documentary, the film weaves in La Isla del Comecocos, a play performed by the patients and staff of the Ramón Carrillo Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Posadas for the past 20 years, only to reach a mythical pizzeria where everyone and everything seems to come back. The film approaches mental health as a collective condition and explores the capacity of language to affect bodies through an extended national choreography.
