Shumon Basar is a writer, thinker, and curator with over two decades of experience working across the Gulf region. Since 2011, he has been Commissioner of Art Dubai’s Global Art Forum and a founding member of Fondazione Prada’s Thought Council. He has led projects for Prada and Miu Miu, collaborated with Art Week Riyadh and the Royal Commission of AlUla, and worked with Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai. In 2025, he contributed to launching Ibraaz in London and curated The Only Way Out is Through for The Third Line gallery in Dubai. He is also co-author of The Extreme Self and The Age of Earthquakes with Douglas Coupland and Hans Ulrich Obrist.
